Thailand’s top virologist from Chulalongkorn University is in self-quarantine after he attended a meeting and sat near the Samut Sakhon governor, who has since tested positive for Covid-19. The virologist, Yong Poovorawan, made a post on Facebook page saying he sat near the provincial governor Verasak Vichitsangsri at a meeting in Samut Sakhon where more than 1,000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 with many linked to a seafood market in the Mahachai fishing hub.
